The IMS NRG is organizing a virtual panel discussion focused on helping candidates navigate the academic job market. The panelists include senior and junior faculty members from different departments including biostatistics, statistics, and business schools. Topics will include tips for preparing application documents, interviewing, and negotiating. We will also discuss tips for positions focused on teaching, particularly at liberal arts schools.

The IMS New Researcher Group is organizing a lunch mixer during the 24th IMS ICSDS (International Conference on Statistics and Data Science), which will be held in December 2024 in Nice, France. The purpose of the event is to foster a sense of community among young researchers and help them build a professional network. Anyone who has received a Ph.D. in or after 2017 or expects to receive a Ph.D. by the end of 2024, and is registered for the ICSDS Conference, is welcome to join the event. Lunch will be provided. You can also present 2-3 slides regarding your research during the mixer.
